Basecrete Fiberglass Mesh
PREMIUM REINFORCING FIBERGLASS MATTE ADDS STRENGTH & STABILITY
When you want to repair a crack, solidify a corner or strengthen an area, the combination of Basecrete and our unique fiberglass mesh is the perfect solution. Our reinforcing 4.5 oz standard fiberglass mesh is made of multi-strand interwoven glass fibers. Fibers are coated with
resin polymers to enhance their resistance to attack by alkalinity of mixtures containing Portland cement.
Pair with our BASECRETE ORIGINAL BOND COAT, or BASECRETE XTREME for a solid and durable waterproof barrier.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I use fiberglass mesh with Basecrete?
Use fiberglass mesh when reinforcing cracks, corners, transitions, or any high-stress areas that need additional structural support. It enhances tensile strength and stability when used with Basecrete Original or Xtreme.
Can the mesh be used in wet or damp conditions?
Yes, the fiberglass mesh is coated with resin polymers that resist the alkalinity found in cementitious environments, making it suitable for damp or wet applications when embedded in Basecrete.
What size mesh roll should I choose for my project?
The choice depends on the area you need to reinforce:
Use 4” rolls for fine cracks or joints.
9.5” rolls are ideal for corners and medium surface reinforcement.
38” rolls work best for wide areas or full-surface overlays.
Do I need to let the mesh cure or dry before applying additional layers?
No, the mesh is embedded directly into the wet Basecrete bond coat. Once applied and smoothed in place, you can immediately coat over it with a second layer of Basecrete for a strong, continuous membrane.
Where can I purchase Basecrete Xtreme?
Basecrete Mesh is available through over 4,000 dealers in the U.S. You can find a distributor using the Basecrete Find A Distributor locator map.
